GURRANYIN BORINYA CULTURAL ENRICHMENT KIT
The Gurranyin Borinya Cultural Enrichment kit is designed for all students to learn about Aboriginal culture and heritage while at the same time completing activities to strengthen their own identity. The title of the kit, Gurranyin Borinya are words from the Bangerang language meaning ‘eagles wings’. In the program, students undertake a series of activities with assessment tasks. To achieve a primary flight feather students are required to complete four of the six activities in each section.
The Kit contains:
- The ‘Gurranyin Borinya Cultural Enrichment Kit Teachers Notes and Student Activities’ book.
- 2 Updated charts for Teachers Notes and Student A.ctivities
- A DVD with a corroboree of the Gurranyin Borinya story and ‘Cummeragunga’ song. The DVD plays with a Windows DVD Player. (The story and lyrics are in the Teachers Notes and Student Activities book).
- A stage play: ‘Daisy Chain’ (based on Aboriginal historical events)
- A children’s adventure book: ‘The Secret Stone’. (called Walwunmuti Bunga in the Teachers Notes book.
