NEENANN
Neenann is a family partnership that began as a consultancy and multimedia business providing cultural education, educational consultancy, research, professional development, and graphic design.
Managing Director
The Managing Director is Dr Esmerelda (Esme) Glenda Bamblett. Her involvement in Koorie Education goes back to 1978 when she gained employment as the Executive Officer of the Victorian Aboriginal Education Consultative Group.
Her education qualifications include a Diploma of Teaching (Primary), a Post Graduate Certificate of Arts (Aboriginal Studies), a Diploma of Ministry, Master of Professional Education and Training, a Diploma of Ministry, and a PhD (Koorie identity). Dr Bamblett is a founding member of the Multifunctional Aboriginal Children’s Services (otherwise known as MACS), both Yappera in Melbourne and Lidje in the Goulburn Valley community.
Writer / Consultant / Facilitator
Merle Hall has a Bachelor of Arts Degree and a Post Graduate Certificate of Journalism. She is the author of the five ‘Adventures of the Little Black Trackas’ books. Merle worked as a Consultant with the Cultural and Indigenous Research Australia and has been involved in the research and writing of many reports undertaken by Neenann since 2003. She is also a key facilitator for the Early Childhood Professional Development Sessions.
Graphic Designers
Gary Saunders is a Graphic Designer with a Certificate 1V in Multimedia. He has graphically designed the five ‘Adventures of the Little Black Trackas’ books as well as developing designs for many organisations. Gary designed the last three metres of the St Georges Road mural and drew the images for the AAL mural, ‘We walk in the Footprints of Giants’. He also provided the designs for the ‘Gurranyin Borinya Cultural Enrichment Kit’, the Bangerang Nursery Rhymes CD and the Aboriginal History Milestones cards.
Graphic Designer/Consultant
Leigh Saunders has an Advanced Diploma in Community Services (Bendigo Institute of TAFE), a Diploma in Community Services (Swinburne University Prahran), a Certificate 1V in Business Governance (Victorian University Melbourne); Certificate 1V in Protective Services (Kangan Institute of TAFE Broadmeadows); Certificate 1V Training and Assessment (Swinburne University Prahran).
Hospitality/Facilitator
Nolita Parnell has worked in various capacities in hospitality for fifteen years as well as in management as well as managing a canteen. She has a Level 1 and 2 in Food handling and is a qualified Supervisor, and a Certificate 1V in Community Services.
Facilitator/Author
Sam Atkinson has a Certificate 1V in Leadership and Management, a Diploma in Community Services/Statutory and Forensic Child, Youth and Family Welfare. She is the Author of “Dooty and the Didjeridoo” book that is aimed at keeping Aboriginal children connected to culture.
